Since March 2025, we have been using Science Bits at Colegio Salcantay in Lima, Peru, in our science and technology, biology, chemistry, and physics classes across several secondary school grade levels.

One of the most significant changes we have observed is the increase in students’ engagement and participation in science classes. In the past, many students associated learning science with memorizing difficult concepts, becoming familiar with complex terminology, or solving problems. Now, thanks to Science Bits, they ask questions, conduct their own research, experiment, solve problems, draw conclusions, and evaluate their results. Learning has become much more active and participatory.

We particularly value the interactive resources, such as videos and simulations, which allow students to explore phenomena and work with real-world situations that can sometimes be difficult to reproduce in the lab or observe firsthand.

In my role supporting and advising teachers, I would also highlight the improvements in lesson planning and assessment. Having the instructional units available on the platform makes it easier for teachers, students, and families to monitor learning progress.

In addition, the automatic grading of self-correcting exercises and the answer keys for open-ended questions save us a great deal of time. This leads to something especially valuable: we have more time to provide feedback to students and develop interactive classroom activities.

I recommend Science Bits because it helps students take an active role in their learning, makes teachers’ work easier, and transforms the way science is taught and learned at school.
